HOW DO WE TURN IDEAS INTO IMPACT?

When a pebble drops into still water, ripples expand outward, touching everything they meet. The same is true of you. Every reflection, decision, and promise you’ve made during PGC has already created waves of awareness, impact, and change through your choices, words, and leadership reaching your community and beyond.

Now, it’s time to turn those ripples into a rising tide.

Do not look the other way; do not hesitate. Recognize that the world is hungry for action, not words. Act with courage and vision.

— Nelson Mandela, former President of South Africa and anti-apartheid activist

The Climate Action Project (CAP) is where your learning becomes leadership and your ideas become impact. This is your opportunity to design a project that tackles a real issue, mobilizes others, and turns your work into tangible results. Each CAP is unique: rooted in personal passion, guided by purpose, and fueled by collaboration. Whether it reduces waste, restores ecosystems, reimagines energy, or advances justice, your CAP will embody the power of youth to drive transformation.

To guide your next steps, reflect back to Day 23, when you explored the Japanese concept of Ikigai — your “reason for being.” It asks: What do you love? What are you good at? What does the world need? What can sustain you? By answering these questions in relation to what you’ve already discovered about yourself, your skills, and your passions, you can design a CAP that is both personally meaningful and socially impactful.

Your CAP isn’t just a project. It’s a promise: a living commitment that bridges this 30-day journey to your lifelong work ahead. Finalists will be chosen for their creativity, engagement, and the strength of their projects. If selected, you will refine and implement your project in the months ahead and present it to judges in April 2025, when a new PGC Champion will be named. This process is designed not only to showcase solutions but also to build leadership and resilience for the long-term.

Activating means stepping fully into your role: as a leader, an advocate, and a catalyst for change. The ripples have begun — the challenge now is to turn them into a movement that lasts.

CHALLENGE

20 POINTS

THINK

Over the past month, you’ve explored issues, discovered your strengths, and unlocked your power to create change. Now, revisit your “why” — the core motivation driving you. Let it guide your next steps as you build your CAP and step fully into your role as a changemaker shaping real impact.

CHALLENGE

  • Reflect on what you discovered in Day 23 Purpose about your core motivation — your “why.”
  • Connect that purpose to the idea or theme you’ve been developing over the past couple of days. What compels you to act? What change do you most want to see?
  • Find or create one image that visually represents this purpose — a photo, drawing, collage, or digital image that captures your motivation.
  • Write a short reflection (150 words) explaining your motivation and how it connects to your project idea or focus area.
  • Post your image with your caption on Instagram with a caption sharing your “why.” Tag @TurningGreenOrg and #PGC2025.

THINK

Every movement begins with an idea, but turning that idea into something visible and shared takes imagination. Design gives you visual identity, and identity creates connection — the foundation for bold impact.

CHALLENGE

  • Take your Theory of Change from Day 27 (Commitment) and expand it into a Climate Action Project (CAP) outline.
  • Start by creating a simple logo, symbol, or visual identity that captures the spirit of your project — hand-drawn, digital, or abstract. Think of it as the emblem for your idea, not a brand.
  • Then, refine your vision, expand your actions, and define the partners or people who will enable you to succeed. Your CAP outline (about one page) should include:
    • Mission statement (refined)
    • Goals and key actions
    • Partners or supporters
    • Project symbol or logo
  • Share your logo or project name on Instagram with a short caption describing your mission and vision. Tag @TurningGreenOrg and #PGC2025.

THINK

You’ve reflected, designed, and committed. Now it’s time to lead and make your vision come to life. The Climate Action Project (CAP) is your opportunity to turn intention into measurable impact — a concrete plan for meaningful change that connects your purpose to the world around you.

CHALLENGE

  • Turn your CAP into a full five-month action plan. This is your opportunity to show how your creativity, leadership, and commitment will create tangible results.
  • Your proposal should include:
    • Project Overview: mission, background, and need
    • Goals and Outcomes: what success will look like
    • Action Plan: specific steps, resources, and timeline
    • Stakeholders and Roles: who will support or collaborate
    • Impact and Evaluation: how you’ll track progress, celebrate milestones, and share your story
  • Submit your full CAP proposal (2—3 pages) and post a short creative teaser — photo, short video, or graphic — introducing your project on Instagram.
  • Tag @TurningGreenOrg and #PGC2025 to share your vision. Celebrate your idea and watch your ripples grow into a rising tide of change.
