YOU MADE IT. Today marks the final challenge of #PGC 2018, and the start of your next phase as a mobilized agent for change. Over the past 30 days, you have transitioned from conventional YOU to conscious YOU and through that, you have changed the mindsets of your friends,family, campuses, and communities by helping them see through a lens of green, one with intention and positive outcomes. YOU are a changemaker and your transformation has been extraordinary to witness.

But your quest to change the world is only just beginning. Where will you go from here? What will you take with you from this experience? For some, your next big step will be the PGC Finals. Others may work with with Turning Green as Campus Reps, Conscious College Road Tour hosts, Interns or other opportunities. How will you continue to live a life of intention and what will your role be in healing our planet? These are questions to contemplate as you journey forward.

Before you get started on making even bigger waves, we want to thank you for your dedication, magnificent work, creativity, passion, and perseverance over this past month. We know what it takes and to each of you so much gratitude for commiting to the work. Thank you for refusing to accept status quo, for opening yourself to the possibilities of cultivating a healthy and just planet, and for being willing to change the course of our future.

You are our hope, and after this month, we can say with great certainty that our future is bright indeed.

A Reflection

Think

Think about yourself pre-PGC, just 30 days ago, and then think about who you are today. How has your perception of the world shifted? Are you making different choices? How have you engaged those around you? How have you changed?

Challenge

We want you to assess just how far you’ve come. On Day 1 you took the PGC Entry Survey. Now we are asking you to take the PGC Exit Survey to assess the impact that 30 days of new found wisdom can have on an individual, particularly those who are ready to shift the paradigm.

Deliverables

Please upload a PDF document telling us that you’ve completed the survey. Please include your name (or team name), username, email address, and school.

Getting to Know YOU

Please read the following note before moving forward:

The Greener, Greenest and Extra Credit challenges are intended for students who are applying for the PGC 2018 Finals. In order to be considered, you are agreeing to these rules. You must be able to travel to San Francisco on your own for the PGC Finals on these dates: 11/14 – 11/19, 2018. Turning Green staff will select the most appropriate flight. You must have turned 16 years of age by October 1, 2018,  and are enrolled as a student in high school, college or grad school.

If you are NOT applying for the PGC Finals, please DO NOT complete the rest of the challenges.

We want to get to know you a little better.

Challenge

Introduce us to the new, conscious you!

  • Provide a professional high-resolution headshot (at least 400 x 396 dpi) and a head-to-toe photo. The photo must be taken with good lighting, with a beautiful nature or plain colored background. Please view this example. If you are selected for the PGC Finals, this will be the photo that will be posted on the PGC website. A jpeg of your head shot needs to be emailed to info@turninggreen.org.
    • If you are a team: Please provide a picture including all team members, as well as an individual shot of the member that would represent the team at PGC Finals.
    • Please provide a one-paragraph bio that tells us about you, where you’re from, what school you attend and anything you would like to share about yourself. This bio will introduce you to the world. Use the opportunity well.

Put together your PGC portfolio:

  • Select 10 of your PGC submissions that you are most proud of and that truly depict the PGC experience for you. Assemble them into one PDF document.
  • Write a cover letter explaining why you selected these submissions. Use this as an opportunity to share anything you feel we should know about your PGC experience.

If your file is too large to be uploaded, please use We Transfer and email to info@turninggreen.org. If you use We Transfer, you must upload a PDF with a link to your We Transfer file as your Greener entry.

Extra Credit

75 POINTS

Up to 250 Points Awarded at the Discretion of the PGC Judges. Due Wednesday, October 31st at 6am PT.

Think

As we mentioned in the instructions, a very important component of your final exam is a reflective video (no more than 5 minutes in length) – highlighting your PGC experience.

Challenge

Make a video that tells us your story. Be as creative as you are able. We want to feel the power and passion of the past 30 days and what they meant to you.

You will have until 6 am PT on Wednesday, October 31 to complete and upload your video. We recommend that you upload your video to YouTube and provide us with the link. Be brilliant!
